Timber cladding prices in the UK have stabilised in the last two quarters after the volatility of 2024. Below is a current, honest price list — per square metre of finished wall (board only, no fixings or labour) — across every species and profile we hold in stock for next-day delivery. We update this guide quarterly.

What moved prices in 2026
Larch — slight softening
Larch has fallen roughly 5–8% in 2026 after the 2024 spike, as new logistics routes through the Baltics have stabilised. A-grade larch is again the best-value contemporary cladding on the UK market.
Cedar — flat year-on-year
Western Red Cedar pricing has held steady. North American stumpage rates are stable and the strong-pound period has helped landed costs into the UK.
Oak — slow upward creep
European oak has risen ~6% year-on-year. UK and continental forestry are under pressure from competing furniture and flooring demand, and kiln capacity remains tight.
ThermoWood — stable
ThermoWood prices from the major Finnish mills are unchanged in 2026. Energy-intensive process, so likely to track gas prices over the next two years.
Sapele and Iroko — modest rises
Both up 4–7% as African certified timber tightens. Worth specifying FSC at order time to avoid documentation hold-ups.
What moves the price up or down on a quote
Profile choice
Hidden-fix and rainscreen profiles are typically 15–25% more expensive per m² than TGV, because more timber is machined away. Shadow gap sits roughly mid-way.
Board length
4.8m and 5.4m boards command a premium of 8–12% over standard 3m–3.6m lengths because of yield. They also waste much less on the wall — worth the premium on long elevations.
Grade
“A grade” is the standard architectural grade across all our cladding stock — clean face, tight live knots, minimal sapwood. Premium grades (Q1, FAS, Top) are 15–35% above A grade depending on species; sometimes worth specifying for short visible runs (above eye-line near entrances) and not elsewhere.
Surface finish
Smooth-planed adds nothing over saw-faced; brushed and pre-aged finishes add 5–10%; pre-coated oil finishes add £8–£14/m².
Volume
Single-pallet quantities (typically 25–40 m² of cladding) are at our headline rate. Pallet-multiple orders of 100m²+ qualify for trade pricing — ask for a quote if your project is in that range.
Per-board vs per-square-metre
Our product pages list both per-board and per-m² prices. The per-m² price is what matters for budgeting against a drawing area; the per-board price matters if you’re buying for a fixed length count. Always order 10–12% over your wall area to allow for cuts and waste — more if the design has many small panels or short courses.
Other costs to remember
The numbers above are for cladding boards only. For a full installed cost — including battens, breather membrane, fixings, labour and VAT — see our companion guide on how much timber cladding costs to install.
