Price range: £13.34 through £22.25 Incl VAT

Douglas fir TGV cladding refers to a type of exterior cladding made from Douglas fir timber that features a tongue and groove (TGV) profile. TGV cladding is a popular choice for both residential and commercial buildings, providing an attractive and durable finish to the exterior. TGV cladding is interlocking profile, where one edge of each board has a groove, while the other has a protruding tongue. This design allows the boards to fit together tightly, creating a weatherproof seal and enhancing the overall structural integrity of the cladding.

Douglas Fir Tongue and Groove Cladding Boards refers to the use of Douglas Fir timber as an exterior covering or finishing material for buildings. Douglas Fir is a popular choice for cladding due to its natural beauty, durability, and structural strength. Douglas is very well suited for cladding as it is very strong and versatile it will not mark and dent easily compared to other softwood species. It has a high resin content so will be able to withstand many years of harsh weather. When freshly cut it bears a pink colour that changes to a Reddish brown and as is the case with almost all timber it will slowly change to a silver grey colour when exposed to the weather.

Douglas has a reddish-brown to yellow-brown heartwood with a pale yellow sapwood. It has a straight grain pattern with occasional knots. The texture is medium to coarse, and the wood has a natural lustre.

  • High-quality Douglas Fir timber with attractive grain and colour

  • 20mm thickness for strength, rigidity and long service life

  • Traditional Yorkshire boarding / overlapping profile

  • Excellent resistance to weather when correctly detailed and installed

  • Suitable for horizontal or vertical installation

  • Naturally durable softwood with good structural performance

  • Can be left untreated to weather naturally or finished with oils or stains
