2. Density: The density of Douglas Fir varies depending on the specific variety and growing conditions. On average, it has a density of about 480 kg/m³ (30 lb/ft³), which makes it a moderately heavy and dense softwood.
3. Workability: Douglas Fir is relatively easy to work with hand and machine tools. It has good machining properties, allowing for smooth cutting and shaping. The wood also holds nails and screws well and glues satisfactorily.
